"I want a cocktail, but I don't want the one with alcohol" is really a misinterpretation
Unfortunately that is the request many mixologists/bartenders get from most wedding guests.
For clarity purposes, A cocktail is an alcoholic drink, it can be a mix of alcohol and non alcoholic drinks, but it contains alcohol. Examples Martinis, Daiquiris
On the Other hand, a cocktail is a complete non alcoholic drink such as the ones made from juices, fruits, smoothies and syrups.
The Chapman served at most Nigerian weddings is truly a mock tail drink but becomes a cocktail drink when Bitters (A blend of alcohol and herbs) is added to it.
